Words are very powerful. They may be simply a form of artistic expression or they may be a political statement. These individuals: Maya Angelou, Sonia Sanchez, and Cornel West have been very influential and I feel blessed to have come in contact with their work. They have inspired me to write some of my own politically charged works that I am a bit apprehensive about sharing but here is a sample. 

Self-experimentation, mind-boggling deliberation, release your frustrations all the while resisting the temptation to give into the acceptance of social injustice which has become the tradition of our nation.
Pragmatism? Skepticism? Overly zealous optimism?

None of these will save us from ourselves.

An endless quest in search for the truth will save us from this hell. 
We are citizens of the United States of "we don't give a damn".

Poverty stricken nations surround us while material things ground us.

Don't buy into the scam.
Don't just let things be, speak up for what's right but most of all think independently.
