Crystal Lopez is a New York City-based media professional specializing in digital asset management, digital manipulation, post production methods and photography.

After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Crystal secured a temporary position as a Scan and Post-production Technician at the Brooklyn Museum, where she had just completed her internship. There, she worked on multiple projects within the Digital Collections and Services department including a yearlong digitization project. During this time, Crystal digitized hundreds of 4x5 film and glass negatives, utilized Adobe Photoshop to perform basic cleanup and entered metadata within the museum’s preferred systems. It was this experience that first drew Crystal to study Library and Information Science. She's also a natural for the field because of her meticulous organizational skills.

In May, 2016 Crystal graduated from St. John’s University with a Master of Science in Library and Information Science. While completing her degree, she worked on several projects within the University’s Archives and Special Collections department as a research assistant.

Currently Crystal has accepted the role of Digital Asset Manager at Hogarth Worldwide New York and will be providing digital asset management services to Castrol, Philips, IBM, UPS, FM Global, Amex and BP.

Before joining the Hogarth Worldwide family, Crystal spent the previous 6 years in various roles at Lord & Taylor, the oldest retailer in the United States. As L&T’s Digital Asset Manager she managed the transmission of assets between various departments within Lord & Taylor and outside agencies, developed and implemented metadata schemes to ensure continued access to digital materials and collections and established a new imaging structure to integrate both the print and digital workflows. In her final role as Marketing Content Manager, Crystal was responsible for managing the installation of L&T’s new job-tracking software and DAM system.

When she isn’t working, or developing a new photography project, Crystal volunteers as a College Success Partner for the Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation. The College Success Partners hold workshops every month to help teenagers from the neighborhoods of Cypress Hills and East New York in Brooklyn research, apply, and stay in college.
