Elizabeth M. Paul

Growing up, I was a devout reader who would devour any book given to me. That passion really grew as I got older, and I realized I wanted to encourage reading among youths. I graduated from Rider University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in English Literature. Unsure of exactly what I wanted to do, I floated between jobs until a librarian friend of mine recommended I check out library services as a profession. For the past two years, I've been gaining the skills I need to become a young adult librarian. For the past year, I've been using these skills that I've learned in a practical setting as a youth services librarian trainee at the Freeport Memorial Library. Through my projects, papers, and work that I've completed throughout my career at St. John's, I hope to show my ability to thrive in my position as well as my ability to continue learning and bettering myself as a librarian.
