FYW 1030c First-Year Writing (12480)

Spring 2019, Thursdays 12:15 - 1:40

D'Angelo Center 408

Derek Owens

This writing course is designed to be a studio workshop where you'll be writing about subjects that matter to you, and in a variety of forms and genres. Think of it as a classroom full of independent studies, where each of you will respond regularly to one another's weekly writings.

Just about every week you'll be required to submit at least 5 pages of work, as well as post feedback to a group of your peers. At the end of the semester you'll submit a final portfolio which, among other things, will include early and finished drafts, responses to and from other students, and an end-of-semester self-reflection.

This is a hybrid online course. We'll meet once a week as a group on Thursdays; peer feedback is due online most Mondays.
